These 40’ wood-sheathed reefers with flush doors and vertical brake wheels are a new body style offered by Micro-Trains. They are painted brown with reefer yellow sides. They bear a 1925 paint scheme with SP medallion on the left side of the car and the UP “The Overland Route” shield on the right of the car. The end print is white; lettering and hardware are black. They were built in 1907 American Car & Foundry, rebuilt in February 1928, and run on Bettendorf trucks. They were originally built by ACF in 1907 as Class R-30-2 and included as part of the large series 1-6600 (class R-30-1s & R-30-2s). Pacific Fruit Express’s order for the series of 6,600 cars was the largest in U.S. history.
