New Z Scale Meat Packer Reefer Series Car #2

Beginning this May, Micro-Trains will launch its newest series in Z scale featuring prototypically accurate meat packer refrigerator car schemes never before done by Micro-Trains! This 40’ wood-sheathed ice reefer wth modern underframe is painted brown with reefer yellow sides, multi-colored Honey Brandlogo, Hams Bacon Lard Produce, and a red and black logo. Side lettering is black and end lettering is white. The reefer was built in 1925 by Pressed Steel Car Company of Hegewisch, IL, and runs on Bettendorf trucks. This reefer is one of a group of 150 refrigerator cars constructed for the North American Car Company’s leasing company, North American Despatch. The cars from this series displayed many different billboard themes, advertising for the company leasing them from N.A.D.X.
