Originally built by Electro Motive Division for Great Northern in 1964, this loco was repainted to Burlington Northern colors after the line's creation in 1970 from the Great Northern; Spokane, Portland & Seattle; Northern Pacific; and the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy.
