The Norfolk Southern - MONONGAHELA ES44AC #8025 is the 15th Heritage unit and the 10th NS Heritage ES44AC unit. This unit is the only NS Heritage unit that is a repainted older unit that was produced by GE back in October of 2010. This unit has a number of details unique from the other 9 NS Heritage units that have already been delivered. You can expect that Overland Models will deliver the unit with its proper detail package. The #8025 paint is based upon the MGA/ GE SUPER 7 series of units with gray/ white and black paint and set off by a red strip of paint along the sill and large M on the nose and long hood sides.

Monongahela Railway (CR, GE) was created in 1901 as a joint venture of the Pennsylvania Railroad and the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad to haul coal out of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, with its base of operations in Brownsville, Penn. The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad acquired a one-third stake in it in 1927. It was merged into Conrail in 1993. The lines of the former Monongahela continue to serve a vital coal-producing region today.
