Wood Reefer cars were the only practical way to transport perishable goods such as dairy, produce, meats and poultry across the country prior to the advent of modern trucking. Without these hardworking cars, it would have been impossible to transport the perishable goods that the far flung populations of the country depended on. These cars are an essential part of any freight train of the day.

This refrigerator car is decorated for the Carnation fleet. The car sides are yellow, with a large red, white, and green Carnation can painted to the left. The ends and roof are freight car brown. The model is equipped with a laser cut wood roof walk, metal wheelsets and Kadee® couplers.
