The newest Bullet train in Japan, introduced just this past March, the E6 “Super Komachi” (so named for the Japanese waka poet Ono no Komachi who lived in the 800s and was so renowned for her beauty that her name has become synonymous for elegance and femininity in Japan) replaces the E3 in service between Tokyo and Akita on the Northern end of Honshu, Japan’s largest Island. From Tokyo to around the midpoint, the E6 couples with the E5 “Hayabusa” (also produced by Kato in N Scale) to operate as a combined consist using a sophisticated hidden coupler system.

This model replicates the sweeping lines and curving body shape of the prototype train as well as the distinct red back that serves to visually differentiate it from its similar E5 sister train. Despite a similar appearance, the E6 "Super Komachi" is a completely newly tooled train from the E5, making it a unique and beautiful train that epitomizes the modern, sleek design of Japanese bullet trains.

•Car interiors can be lit with optional 11-211 or 11-212 Version 2 interior lighting kits
