This 40’ double sheathed wood reefer with vertical brake wheel is painted maroon with black roof and ends. The ‘Canadian Pacific’ herald and lettering are all in Dulux imitation gold. Ladders and grabs are black—no door hardware. #5609 was one of a series of 100 express refrigerator cars built by Canadian Car & Foundry in June of 1922 and serviced in March 1955. The car runs on Bettendorf trucks.
