History:  Bus build dates 1950 to Feb. 1960; In service dates 1950 to 1970s

The Kansas City Public Service Company (KCPS) started in 1925.  Rail transit operations in Kansas City began in 1869 as a horse-powered operation,and then later as a cable cars, and then electrified trolleys in the 1880s.  KCPS rostered a diverse fleet of motor coaches, trolley coaches, and PCC streetcars.  They have about 350 motor coaches, 166 trolley coaches, and 184 PCC streetcars.  KCPS became KC Transit Inc. in 1960 before being acquired by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority in 1969.

 

KCPS purchased in April - May of 1947 C45-GT and were numbered 301-350.  These Wheels of Time motor coaches are a good stand-in for the C45-GT.
