This black 100 ton three bay open hopper is lettered in yellow with yellow Chessie logo, “Chessie System” herald and B&O reporting mark and road number. It was serviced in December 1985 and runs on Barber Roller Bearing trucks. The B&O was the country’s first common carrier, Class I railroad, and the first to offer scheduled freight and passenger service to the public. During its peak years, the railroad extended east to Staten Island, NY, and west to Illinois.
