This 50’ steel gondola with fishbelly sides and drop ends is painted brown with white herals and lettering. It was built by Bethlehem Steel in 1951, serviced in 1972, and carries a coke load on Bettendorf trucks. The Western Maryland Railway was an American Class I railroad which operated in Maryland, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. It was primarily a coal hauling and freight railroad, with a small passenger train operation. The WM became part of the Chessie System in 1973 and ceased operating its lines in 1983 when it was merged into the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. This car comes complete with a coke container load.
