For most of its history, Indiana Harbor Belt was controlled by the New York Central System and their successors Penn Central and Conrail. So when IHB was in the market for transfer cabooses, Penn Central’s Despatch Shops stepped in to fill the need. The new cars were delivered in PC green but with IHB’s logos. IHB #14 is presented here as it rolled out of the shops. #20 is presented with the logo moved alongside the window and the “Injuries Hurt Beware” safety slogan added.
