This 40’ wood-sheathed reefer is painted brown with yellow sides and runs on Arch Bar trucks. This colorful scheme had the typical Baby Ruth logo on the right with the Curtiss president’s signature, the ‘crooked arrow’ across the door, and boasted a daily capacity of 7.5 million Baby Ruth candy bars!

This summer will mark the beginning of our newest series featuring 7 prototypical Baby Ruth freight cars from the 1920’s and early 30’s. This series will consist of six colorful billboard reefers and one tank car, all displaying elaborate ads for Baby Ruth which was owned then by Curtiss Candy Company. Baby Ruth was acquired by Nabisco in 1981 and Nabisco sold the Curtiss brands to Nestlé in 1990. N scale reefers will be released in 36’ or 40’ lengths with proper fi shbelly or truss-rod underframes according to the original reefer.
