Erie – large diamond 3-Bay Offset Side Hoppers. The Erie served coal mines in Ohio and Pennsylvania. For many years they even owned both anthracite and bituminous coal mining operations in Pennsylvania. Within their diverse hopper fleet, Erie had 1,000 of these 70 ton capacity cars. They began applying the large diamond logo (5’ high on these hoppers) late in 1947 as cars came into the shop for major service. This run will be available in 6 road numbers.
