Seaboard Coast Line 3-Bay Offset Side Hoppers. SCL inherited their hoppers of this design from both predecessors Seaboard Air Line and Atlantic Coast Line at the time of their 1967 merger. SCL had more than 9,000 miles of line blanketing six southeastern states at a time when industry in the region was greatly expanding. A fleet of 63,000 freight cars kept the cargo moving.
