Available On: January 1, 2017

These diminutive gas powered industrial switchers were built by Plymouth Locomotive Works in Plymouth, Ohio. They were intended for light industrial use, but found other uses too. Plymouth built more than 7500 switchers from 1910 until the late 1990's. They were built in a variety of gauges for operators in different locations. Operators included lumber companies, coal companies, brick makers, glass makers and a variety of railroads, both large and small. Some examples of these are still in use today, while others are preserved and various railroad museums. Many an HO modeler may remember a Tyco version of these locomotives from their first childhood train sets.
