This 40’ despatch stock car is brown with white lettering and run on Bettendorf trucks. Beginning in 1927, Western Pacific began to convert approximately four hundred 1916 era 40’ boxcars into single-deck stock cars. Many cars from this rebuild program continued to serve in a MOW capacity even into the 1970s.
