This 51’ rivet side mechanical reefer is orange with black lettering and runs on Roller Bearing trucks. In 1955, Pacific Fruit Express ordered 200 R-70-10 class cars, with Carrier refrigeration units, and Detroit Diesel engines with a 400 gallon fuel tank. These cars had fiberglass insulation and were repainted in the early 1970s.
