Kanamodels - HO Scale - Prince Edward Island Railroad (PEIR) - Booking Station (SKU 436-1070)

 

These stations, known as a booking stations, were located in a number of  towns and villages  all over Prince Edward Island and used until the end of passenger service. The term "Booking  Station" referred to the fact one could book passage on a ship or other railroads etc. at the station. The PEIR (PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND RAILROAD) was a 3' narrow gauge line but was converted to standard gauge in the 1920's by the Canadian National. Because of financial difficulties had been absorbed into the Intercolonial Railroad in the early 1900's. This kit was developed from plans drawn by Steve Hunters as was the freight house above. The footprint is 9.5" x 4"
