Pullman preferred to build simple open section cars. But many travelers, particularly those with more money preferred private rooms. The 6-3 sleeper was built to fill this demand, featuring six bedrooms and three drawing rooms. These cars were easily recognized due to their unique window arrangement with 12 single windows spaced unevenly on one side and paired windows on the other. These cars were popular with travelers, with some still in service into the 1960's.
