The D&H diesel era can be viewed in three distinct eras: 1944-60 with black and yellow RS2/3's and S2/4's; 1961-1976 with second generation blue and grey Aldo's and GE's; and 1976-1991 with a colorful array of new and nearly new diesels to handle the route expansion with Conrail.
