PRAIRIE RAILS

This show is well done like all the other shows orignally produced by Rail Innovations. They headed to Saskatchewan and Manitoba for action on both Canadian National and Canadian Pacific mainlines, plus see the CANADIAN make a night stop in Melville, SASK.

We also see Canadian Pacific action on the line from North Portal to Moose Jaw, which is the line to the border with the USA. On the branch lines we see the Canadian National branch west of Regina to Avonlea.

Then we head to the Lewvan Branch which uses the uniquely Canadian GMD1 owned by the Canadian National. We see both the 2 axle, and 3 axle versions in service on this 60 pound rail branch. We also get to see classic grain elevator footage including vintage trucks delivering grain, and dumping it, plus grain being loaded into rail cars. We sadly see the demise of one on this line as well. This line is now gone, so its historical in many ways.

Next we visit the Arcola Subdivision on CP Rail, before heading to the Kalium Potash Mine area to see both CP and CN trains which service this busy plant.

There is classic railroading, and we even see some trains with cabooses. Shot with pro camera gear; shows elevators and branch line railroading from a by-gone era, even though this was shot in 1997.

A fine show for all to enjoy!!
