Treating passengers to unprecedented levels of luxury and speed, most cars for the Twin Cities Hiawatha service were built in the company's own shops, incorporating features usually found only on luxury overnight trains. Ready for operation or display, this Walthers Proto replica is finished in the standard Milwaukee Road scheme used from 1950 to 1955 with correct period details and features including:

Painted to match Union Pacific equipment as the Milwaukee assumed operation of Chicago-Omaha trains in late 1955 (and perfect for pool service with the WalthersProto 1960s City of Los Angeles - sold out at Walthers; see your dealer), yellow and gray became Milwaukee’s standard scheme well into the 1970s. Each car in this series is complete with silver trucks with disc brakes as appropriate, notched side sills (except the Super Dome which was not modified), fixed car steps, later-style ends with lift rings and updated diaphragms (the Super Dome retained it's originals). Each model has also been upgraded with prototypically tinted windows with gaskets as appropriate, factory-installed grab irons, and modeler-installed extended drawbars for 22" radius curves. Choose from a factory-printed name or number (920-9120 to 9128 series), or model any car in the fleet with the full set of name and number decals included with Standard series cars (920-9130 to 9138).

PLEASE NOTE: As these cars are the correct prototype length and feature full underbody detail to match the prototypes, a minimum 24" radius is recommended for operation.
