The Kiha 110 Series is a suburban railcar that was introduced by JR East in 1991. It’s paint scheme is light and quite different from other diesel train. Its new high-power engine and mechanisms contributed to the speeding up of the Kiha 110 Series.

The Kiha 110 Series was widely used in the northern parts of the Japanese mainland, for example in Morioka (Hanawa Line, Yamada Line, etc.), Koushida (Ishinomaki, Kesennuma Line, etc.), Koriyama (Banetsu East Line), Niitsu (Iwaba Koshi Line, etc.) and Nakagomi (Koumi Line).
