KIHA 25 made the debut in 2010 as the main trains for passenger transport on local lines in JR Tokai’s area. Among them, No. 1500s belong to the 2nd production group and are characterized by flat and sleek stainless steel body without weld mark and by the special skirt against collision with deer. Unlike 1000s, they are not equipped with rooftop whistle and snow plow, etc. Currently they are in service on Kise Mainline (between Kameyama and Shingu) and Sangu Line(on all the routes).
