After the US Army was done using them in the fight to victory in the European Theatre of WWII, many of the sturdy little Whitcomb 65-ton diesel locos came back to America. They were sold off one or two at a time, and went on to serve for decades in branchline and industrial service. The postwar American version features different tooling to reproduce correct details, like the single high headlight and American end beams with PIKO knuckle couplers.
