The Kishin Line is a 158 km long non-electrified line that runs from Himeji to Niimi via Kozuki and Tsuyama in Okayama Prefecture. KIHA 122 series is a new series of diesel locomotives that started operation in March 2009 as part of the Kishin Line transportation improvement project. The all-stainless steel double cab car body is combined with a normal steel front head with a design in the vein of the 223 series. The train (usually) runs from Himeji to Kozuki in single or two-car set.

- The vehicle belonging to the Himeji Railway Department is a prototype. Released as a 2-car set with and without a motor
● Accurately reproduces the modern design of the clear side with the front shape and large windows leading to the 223 series and 521 series
● Reproduces the overhang at the bottom of the customer door
● Bottom of the skirt Reproduces the shape that does not block the left and right inspection holes without the notch for the electric connection
● The connection part adopts a body mount close connection type (without hook), and the front and rear parts are equipped with dummy couplers. Replacement connection coupler included
● Snowplow attached to the dolly
● Power unit with flywheel, no traction tires
● Headlight / taillight, front display lit (with off switch)
● Destination display sticker included
