■ Series 103 was first mass-produced in 1964.It is the standard commuter DC train of Japan National Railways, of which more than 3,400 cars have been manufactured over the past 20 years. There are many variations depending on when they were manufactured and the lines they are used on, and a few are still in operation today. This commuter train is still familiar to many people, not only railroad fans.
