InterMountain Railway is now offering a Coal Gondola Conversion Kit. This kit provides all of hte items necessaryt to update older LBF, E&C, and Hubert brand coal gondolas to InterMountain specifications, improving the rolling qualities of hte older cars. Included in the kit are two weights, a set of bolsters with details, two InterMountain 100 Ton trucks, and four screws (InterMountain wheelsets are sold separately). These components are the same as used on InterMountain's own cars, updating the older cars to match InterMountain cars in eight and truck quality. Installation is easily accomplished by removing the old bolsters and interior weights, replacing them with the InterMountain bolsters and weights (which double as the car's interior slope sheets), adding couplers of the modeler's choice and attaching the trucks. Total conversion time, not including glue drying time, is just minutes per car. Modeler's who desire to update their older coal gondolas to today's standards now have a solution to the issue that is both easy to use and affordable. Bolsters and details may need to be painted to match some roadnames.
