Poultry Company (the “Sunflower Brand”) of Hillsboro, Kansas. North American Despatch was founded in the early 1900s and was headquartered in
Chicago, Illinois, primarily leasing tank cars and refrigerator cars.

In the 1800s through the mid-1900’s, shipments of eggs, butter and poultry were growing in demand. With the adventof ice cooled refrigerator car, these products were able to ship with relative ease to urban markets across the country.
