Developed for use in the Kanmon Tunnel linking Honshu and Kyushu, EF81 No.300 is characterised by its stainless steel car body with a distinctive corrugated appearance.

 

Features

・The prototype was No.301, which has had an inspection window on the side of the driver's cab since 2010.

・Includes a wireless antenna on the roof with different positioning from past products.

・The maker plate is recreated with silver lettering.

 

*The shape of the front central corrugated end differs from that of the prototype as the product uses KATO's EF81 300 (Unit 303 prototype).
