The M4A3 Sherman tank was a game changer for Allied Forces during WW2. There were a number of basic variations and modifications, both from the factory and in the field, in an attempt to meet the growing power of Axis tanks and artillery. Almost every railroad had a hand in transporting strategic loads across the country, the Sherman being one of them.
