● Item Introduction

The "SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train“ is a seasonal sightseeing train that runs between Kushiro and Shibecha on the Nemuro Main Line. It's the only steam locomotive train currently operating in Hokkaido. The train features unique cars, like the 'Tancho Car,' where seats face the windows to give you an up-close view of the stunning Kushiro Wetlands, and the 'Stove Car,' which has a Daruma stove to keep passengers warm. The C11 171 locomotive, which pulls the train, was originally a preserved engine but was restored in 1998 and is now exclusively used for this train. A distinctive feature of this train is that it runs in reverse on the return trip.

 

◆ Hokkaido's only SL train is now available in N gauge. Alongside the standalone C11 171 locomotive and a set of five passenger cars, we are also releasing a special edition set with a uniquely designed sleeve for the locomotive and passenger cars. You can enjoy these models together with other JR Hokkaido trains and SL trains running on other JR lines.

① C11 171

  • Modeled after its appearance following a full inspection in January 2022
  • Equipped with snow plows on both the front and rear.
  • Features a dummy coupler at the front and a standard Arnold coupler at the rear. Includes replacement knuckle couplers and a backup Arnold coupler for reverse running.
  • Both front and rear headlights illuminate with bulb color LED lights.
  • Powered by a slotless motor for stable running.
  • Includes headmarks for the “SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train“ and “SL Suzuran Train.”
  • Realistically printed body markings, including the manufacturing plate (Showa 15/Kawasaki Vehicles/No. 2333), and printed depot plate 'Kushiro.’

② 14 Series 500 Subseries "SL Fuyu-no-Shitsugen Train“

  • Replicates the appearance following renovations in 2021.
  • Each car is equipped with close-coupling body-mounted couplers. The Suhafu 14 has a body mounted Arnold coupler on the locomotive side.
  • Includes replacement knuckle couplers and jumper plugs.
  • The tail light of the Suhafu 14 is functional, with the tail mark printed.
  • The Oha 14 accurately reproduces the Daruma stove installed inside, with a visible flame effect, and the chimney on the roof.
  • The Suhashi 44 has been remodeled into a 'Cafe Car' as of 2022.
