In early 1991, Burlington Northern received an order of 16 single Husky-Stack cars from Gunderson, accommodating containers up to 48’ in the lower well position. These were rolled into the BNSF fleet a few years later after the 1995 merger. The Husky-Stack well car was first introduced in 1990 at the International Intermodal Expo in Atlanta, GA.
