● Item Introduction

The Yo5000 was modified starting in 1959 from the Yo3500 to serve as a baggage car for the "Takara" container express, featuring a two- stage link mechanism to accommodate a maximum speed of 85 km/h. Later, newly built cars were added as Yo5000, and they became active nationwide as guard cars for freight trains.
