● Item Introduction

Coal and charcoal briquettes, which were used as fuel for steam locomotives in the mid-Showa period, are now available in N and HO scales. Charcoal briquettes are made by combining various fuel powders (like smokeless coal) with a binder and shaping them into small stones. It is currently used as fuel for operational steam locomotives. This product is also ideal for recreating coal cinders.

◆ Perfect material for creating scenes featuring coal and charcoal briquettes. Suitable for loading into steam locomotives and freight cars and recommended for layouts featuring a coal depot and SL crew figures.

  • Realistic coal, cinders, and charcoal briquettes that enhance the era of steam locomotives are now available.
  • Made by Woodland Scenics, known for their well-crafted size, shape, and color realism. Available in N scale and HO scale options.

① Coal

  • ＜Nano (N)＞: Represents unprocessed coal as it comes from the mine. Ideal for recreating bulk cargo in freight cars or for loading in an SL's tender.
  • ＜Small (HO)＞: Larger chunks of coal compared to ＜ Nano (N)＞. Suitable for loading in HO or HO narrow gauge cars or incorporating into dioramas.

② Charcoal Briquettes and Cinders

  • ＜Nano (N)＞: Realistically depicts coal cinders. Perfect for creating scenes in locomotive sheds or as charcoal for SLs.
  • ＜Small (HO)＞: Larger particles than ＜Nano (N)＞. Usable as cinders or charcoal briquettes in HO or HO narrow gauge setups.
