Delaware & Hudson has had one of the most eclectic freight car fleets in railroading. This group of box cars was actually built by D&H in their own shops in Oneonta, NY following the 1944 AAR design (although D&H used crimped panel seams instead of the standard lap seams.) This is deLuxe's second release of D&H box cars but this paint scheme is different from the earlier release. This version represents the "as built" paint scheme. Since D&H only repainted cars when they came into the shop for serious work, many of this group of cars remained in the original paint scheme until the end of the roof walk age in the mid-1970's. This run is available in singles and 2 packs for a total of three different road numbers.
