● Item Introduction
● The EF81 was introduced in 1968 as a dual-purpose electric locomotive capable of hauling both passenger and freight trains. Unit 95 was repainted in a rainbow color scheme in 1987 to serve as the locomotive for the "Super Express Rainbow." It’s vibrant cherry red paint and the large "EF81" logo prominently displayed on the side of the body are its most distinctive features and even after the retirement of the "Super Express Rainbow," its livery has been maintained, and it is currently in use as the locomotive for chartered trains such as the Cassiopeia Cruise and Cassiopeia Kiko.
◆ A new addition to KATO's EF81 series is here! The 95th unit has been updated with an improved logo design and will be released as a standalone product. It is well-suited as the locomotive for the upcoming release of the E26 Series 'Cassiopeia Cruise'/'Cassiopeia’.
