Item Introduction

The 209-500 Series was introduced in 1998 for operation on the Chuo and Sobu Local lines.

It is characterized by a wider body, designed to increase transport capacity compared to the existing 209 Series. In 2008, four of the trains were transferred to the Keiyo Line, but as the successor E233-5000 Series was introduced, three of these sets were transferred to the Musashino Line. The remaining one is still in service today, after having some equipment updates.

The 209-500 Series, the longest-serving train on the Keiyo Line, is now available in N-gauge! You can enjoy scenes featuring the E233-5000 Series, which ran on the same line, along with various other trains it shared tracks with on the Uchibo and Sotobu lines.

Product Features

Kato (Japan) have reproduced a model of the 34th train belonging to the Keiyo Rolling Stock Center.

With an enhanced skirt design, the model replicates the form from around 2010 to 2016, before the equipment updates.

The windows of the lead car (which were altered to open and close) as well as the platform detection system have been reproduced.

The PS33B type single-armed pantograph has been replicated.

The slotless motor enables smooth and silent running.

Head/tail-lights and front destination sign are lit (using white LEDs).

The included stickers feature two different types of priority seat signs, before and after the design change in 2015.

Includes stickers of the baby stroller signs that were affixed from 2014 onwards, allowing you to recreate the design from both before and after these signs were implemented.

The company label “Senkyo” (千ケヨ) and safety equipment labels “P/Sn” are recreated in print.
