With the March 2024 extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen from Kanazawa to Tsuruga, operations on a portion of the conventional line between Daishoji and Tsuruga were separated from JR and re-established as a new regional railway: Hapi Line Fukui.

As part of the transition, sixteen 2-car sets of the 521 series were transferred to the new company. These trains now operate in a distinctive pink-based livery, unique to Hapi Line Fukui. In June 2024, a visually striking fully wrapped train set was introduced, drawing attention for its vivid and modern design.

This release includes:

– A 4-car set featuring both the standard livery and the limited full-wrap version (only two of these sets exist in real life)
