Item Introduction

Oigawa Railway 6000 Series

The Oigawa Railway 6000 series is a new type of train that entered service on December 30, 2024. After being transferred from Nankai Electric Railway, the two cars KuHa 6905 and MoHa 6016 were equipped with safety devices compatible with Oigawa Railway and fitted with snowplows (skirts). The cars retain the original blue and orange stripe livery from before the transfer.

Nankai Electric Railway 6000 Series

The Nankai 6000 series is a 20-meter class commuter train manufactured in 1962 by Tokyu Car Corporation (now J-TREC) under technical cooperation with the Budd Company of the United States. Its features included an unpainted corrugated stainless-steel body, uniquely shaped ventilators, and Pioneer III bogies. A total of 72 cars were built, and even more than 60 years after their debut, around 20 cars are still operating on Nankai Line.
