The power unit for the 289 Series Add-on Set enables the extension formations of the 289 Series “Kōnotori/ Kinosaki” (scheduled for release in June) as well as the “Kuroshio” to operate under their own power.In addition to standalone operation of a 3-car extension set, this unit is also recommended for recreating train formations using two extension sets coupled together.
