   This 40' box car with single Superior door is painted B&M bluebird blue with black doors, has white lettering and runs on black Bettendorf trucks. Built in June of 1947, BM 74409 was repainted in one of the new 'bluebird' paint schemes being tried in the mid 1950s after Patrick B. McGinnis became president of the B&M and made extensive changes not only in the look of the cars themselves, but also in the management of the railroad.
