The Lehigh & Hudson River had a fascinating history as a prosperous through-freight railroad.  This book studies the history, operations and motive power of this 86 mile "bridge route."  In the colorful autumn of 1972, Shuttle One was westbound through the approprately named Orange County, New York, with OA-1 out of Maybrook.  On April 16, 1950, heavy 2-8-20 No.94 had OA-3 westbound at Craigville, N.Y. Alco RS3 No. 3 was wearing the simplified Centennial livery approaching Scot Road crossing just north of Franklin Junction, N.J., in June 1965.
