Over the past few months, SoundTraxx has introduced a couple of new Board formats to the Tsunami2 line of products.  

These include the TSU-PNP8 and a TSU-21PNEM8.  Both decoders now offer access to 8 functions rather than the traditional 6 on the standard PNP and 21PNEM versions.  

These will live side-by-side for a while, but at some point the 6-function versions will be discontinued and replaced fully by the 8-function cousins.  It’s easier to have them and not need them than need them and not have them.
