Kato (Japan) has announced the October 2021 Releases
D51-498 Steam Locomotive With Auxiliary Light
● After its retirement, D51 498 was stored in a static state, but it returned to the main line in 1988 when it was towed by the Orient Express '88, which was visiting Japan at the time. Since then, it has gained popularity by pulling event trains such as the "SL Minakami" on the Joetsu Line, and has become one of the signature trains of JR East.
In 2015, an LP405-typeequipped auxiliary light light. Currently, it is mainly used for "SL Gunma Minakami" and "SL Gunma Yokogawa", pulling Series 12 passenger cars.
It is the best choice as a traction machine for <10-1720 Series 12 Passenger Car JR East Takasaki Yard> which will be on sale at the same time.
◆ Product features
① The tender reproduces the current appearance, including the shape of the partition, coal enclosure, and fuel oil tank, as well as the piping and steam pipes on the gable.
② Spoke wheels are used for the front and rear wheels.
③ Power with flywheel is collected from the engine as well as the tender wheels for stable running.

DD51-800 Takasaki Yard Diesel Locomotive
● As of 2021, Nos. 842 and 895 are belonging to JR East Japan Takasaki Train Depot, and draw special trains or extra trains for construction works. No. 895 is characterized by the decoration with silver chimney flue and handrails and reserved to pull imperial trains.
◆ Enjoy representation of special event trains or a trial operation trains which drew OYA 12 by combining a DD51 800 with #10-1720 Series 12 passenger cars belonging to JR East Japan Takasaki Train Depot.

Series 12 Passenger Car JR East Takasaki Yard 7-Car Passenger Set
● Series 12 Passenger Cars are used in such special trains as “Steam Locomotive train Gumma, “Minakami” or “Steam locomotive train Gumma, Yokokawa”, drawn by D51 and other steam locomotives, as well as in special trains on other lines in JR East Japan’s areas.
OYA 12’s are special cars modified on the basis of SUHAFU 12 belonging to the Takasaki Train Depot and used as reserve cars to accompany and move a steam locomotive, move in or out of factories or to travel to a distant area to make a special train.
◆ To pull the trains, such locomotives are recommendable as EF64 1000s of JR East Japan, #2016-A D51 (with Sublights) and #7008-G DD51 800 belonging to Takasaki Train Depot.

● OHA 12/SUHAFU 12
① The scale model is modeled after the recent shape of the vehicles belonging to the Takasaki Branch of JR East Takasaki Train Depot.
② Car No. 100s of OHAFU 12 late stage is modeled for the first time. The appearance is accurately reproduced with such details as through diaphragms attached outside, vertical car side windows, body sides without JR sign.
● OYA 12
① The scale model is made after the vehicle with blind pulled down on the side windows. Unlike SUHAFU 12, it has no rooftop wireless antenna but has white belt on the front through door and JR sign on the body side.
② Signs on the middle car connection sides are reproduced.
Series 787 Tsubame 9-Car Passenger Set
● The real train appeared as a limited express “Tsubame” in July, 1992. Ever since it experienced various operations and renewal of the interiors and exteriors. It is still now operated as a main train of the JR Kyushu conventional limited express. Upon its debut, it was deployed first to Kagoshima Operation Center and travelled between Moji port, Hakata and Nishikagoshima (the current Kagoshima Chuo). In 1994, the train was altered to consist of 9 cars with the buffet car SAHASHI 787 changed from car No. 3 to 5.

① Round toilet tank under floor of end of cars with lavatories are reproduced.
② The head/taillights turn on. The headlights are reproduced in bulb color LED in addition to the light cover.
③ Stickers are supplied with the product showing “Tsubame”, “Dream Tsubame” and “Ariake”.
④ Handrails are reproduced as separate parts under the front cab windows.
Series 103 4-Car Passenger Set
Series 103 is a standard DC commuter train of JNR which was started in the mass production in 1964 and manufactured for more than 20 years in the quantity of more than 3,400.
It was operated in AC line areas across Japan and existed in various versions depending on the time of manufacture and the areas where it is used. Even now, a few are still operated.

① This is a set to enjoy easily JNR standard commuter trains Series 103.

③ Passenger car lighting sets can be installed in.
④ Arnold couplers are used for connection in the middle of train. A dummy coupler is installed on top of the top car.
