Kato (Japan) has announced the July 2023 Releases
The Series 283 is a pendulum-type limited express train that was introduced in 1996 as the "Super Kuroshio (Ocean Arrow)" and still operates between Osaka and Shingu/Shirahama in Wakayama Prefecture.
This train is equipped with a controlled natural pendulum that is more stable than that of the conventional Series 381, making it more comfortable and shortening the travel time.
The front car has two types of designs: the non-through type and the through type. The non-through type is a speedy, streamlined panoramic first-class car with a dolphin-like appearance and a large window at the front that allows passengers to enjoy a frontal view from inside the car.

・Head- and taillights are illuminated. The headlights are yellow LEDs. The through-beam lead cars (Kuha 282/283) are both equipped with a light-off switch.
・Includes destination display stickers.
・9-Car Set: 2 x 6-car bookcases; 6-Car Basic Set: 6-car bookcas;, 3-Car Uncoupler Set: 3-car bookcase; the contents of the 3-Car Uncoupler Set can be stored in the bookcase of the 9-car set.
・DCC friendly.

The series E231-1000 is a commuter rail version of the regular series E231, which entered service in 2000. It was created to replace the deteriorated Series 113 and 115, and is made of stainless steel and equipped with toilets and partial transverse seating.
Introducing the Series E231-1000 Tokaido Line in its current shape with renewed underfloor machinery. Recreated with the new underfloor machinery and the truck of the first class car, which had its yaw damper removed.

- Runs smoothly thanks to the power car unit with flywheel.
- Head-/taillights on the front cars are standardly equipped. Car no. 10 (KUHA E231-8520) and 11 (KUHA E230-6047) come with a light switch.

Following an ordinance in 2012, the EF65 1000s, which were passed on from JNR to JR Freight, were renumbered as 2000s to distinguish them from the 1000s belonging to passenger companies. In recent years, it has become a topic of discussion that the JNR colors had been applied during general inspections.
They are active in a wide range of areas from the Tokyo metropolitan area to the Tokaido, Sanyo, and Shikoku regions.
Beginning with this product, a slotless motor will be used for the power unit, and the number plate and various markings on the body will be changed. The item number, MSRP, and JAN code will also be changed accordingly.
No other changes from previous models have been made.
