Dear N Scale Modelers: one of our customers recently wondered if
we could find any of the ACF 70 Ton Closed Side Hoppers
that Kato did in 1998 and 1999. One of our distributors in Canada
had a very small quantity of these long out of print cars. Here is
alist of the items we found. Please remember we only have a few of
each so they will be available on a first come basis.

- Manufactured by American Car & Foundry.
- First introduced in 1940's, built throughout 1950's and
operated well in to 1980's, this hopper is one of the most popular
non-boxcar pieces of equipment to roll on North American
rails.
- These versatile hoppers were used to transport granular
bulk commodities, such as sand, concrete, powdered lime,
sugar.
- Some are still in service today, primarily as Maintenance
of Way (MOW) service.
