● Item Introduction
The D51, a symbol of Japanese steam locomotives, is now available in HO gauge (scale: 1/80).
● The D51 boasts the highest production numbers among locomotives operated by JNR and JR, with the capability to run on low-standard lines (Otsu line), making it a prominent presence nationwide. Known as the "De-go-ichi," it remains beloved as a classic steam locomotive. It was primarily used as a main locomotive on non-electrified sections from before the war until the mid-showa period, and it showcases various equipment tailored to the climate and operational conditions of different regions, allowing for a diverse appearance despite being the same model.
◆ This product is modeled on the standard basic form of the D51, allowing you to experience the locomotive in its original form. Users can also enhance details and create individual variations by using the separately sold 〈7-104 (HO) D51 Upgrade Parts Set〉. Furthermore, a makeup parts set that replicates regional specifications and line characteristics is currently in development. These options allow you to customize your very own D51.
◆ Product Features
The product is based on the standard basic form of the D51 that was mass-produced and operated around warmer regions and plains in the 1970s. It accurately reproduces the standard appearance with features such as a deflector with inspection windows, a warm-region cab without a round front window, and no snowplow.
