Soundtraxx Announces New Non-Sound Mobile DCC Decoders

strx-logo

SoundTraxx has gained a well-deserved reputation for making quality sound decoders that several locomotive manufacturers have adopted as their standard (Athearn, Bowser, Intermountain, etc). However, SoundTraxx has its own way of doing things which sometimes creates a challenge to get other locomotives to MU together with SoundTraxx-equiped locos. What was needed was a low-cost, non-sound decoder that would match their operating parameters. In response, SoundTraxx has developed several non-sound DCC decoders that can fill that role.

There are two for N Scale and four for HO Scale. They differ primarily in the way they interface with the existing loco. All models are compatible with the NMRA DCC standards and Recommended Practices and are manufactured in Durango, Colorado. They include SoundTraxx' Hyperdrive™ Motion Control System, which is found in all Tsunami Digital Sound Decoders and incorporates advanced motor control features such as High Resolution Speed Steps and High Frequency PWM Drive (Pulse-Width-Modulation) to help to eliminate motor 'hum'. Hyperdrive also includes such features as Back-EMF control, programmable speed curves, and adjustable momentum.

These new decoders are finally on the way to us and will be available for shipping soon. They will be in open stock. Check out the details of each decodes below and try them. We think you will like both the price and performance!
